This video installation offered up mystery pills to be taken by the viewer as they watched a video of myself looking the mirror and admiring my physique to an upbeat club song.
Sometimes marketing doesn’t clarify what the product actually does, leaving you to draw your own conclusions. Other times it makes claims that cannot be supported beyond the convincing packaging. Yet, if we rely on the truth marketing provides, then pills resemble an act of communion– accepting is believing– an act regularly repeated. Its an act led by blind faith and without question.
Many times we take pills expecting a simple result. It’s just that easy. Many people pour it out of the bottle, not questioning its contents or origin, yet relying on the marketed promises that of which have no support from the Food & Drug Administration.
